Green tea, Pneumonia and Liver Cancer

Green tea, Pneumonia and Liver Cancer

The mountain of benefits of green tea continues to grow. Now the data arrives from Japan, where several studies have added beneficial properties of this infusion, associated with serious problems such as liver cancer and pneumonia.

One of them has been conducted by Toru Naganuma School of Medicine, Tohoku University, who showed that drinking about five cups of green tea per day may reduce the risk of various cancers by up to 42%, data that apply to both men and women and people with different weights.

From the same university, another group of investigators also studied the properties of green tea associated with cancer. Published in the journal Cancer Causes and Control, the study showed that green tea consumption was inversely associated with risk of developing liver cancer. The study showed that the more green tea was consumed, the lower the risk of breast cancer.

Finally, another study from the same University published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found a strong link between green tea consumption and the incidence of pneumonia in women. Researchers attribute this to the potent antioxidant found in green tea.

Well, the list is growing, particularly in relation to cancer. Green tea is a brew to be taken into account to prevent the development of this disease, not to mention its other benefits, of course.
