Only the ones that have faced the problem of drug addiction straight in the face know what a drug addict goes through. It does not matter if that person was someone in your family or a dear friend, in many cases the ones next to them felt totally useless as they did not know a way to get them stay clean. In many cases it is not always enough for the family and friends to want to save someone. The first thing that needs to be done is for the drug addict to realize that he needs to be helped. It is sometimes a matter of his will, a thing that people cannot offer.

The first help and place where people should go is to a drug rehab center. It is really important to get the addict out of his environment. In almost all cases the home therapy does not work if the addiction is very profound. The truth is that at home they are exposed to the same conditions as before and the temptation of starting again taking drugs is very high. Also the drug dealers may want to search them and it is difficult to say that the addicts will be capable of saying no. This is why the solution of the drug rehab centers is the best one.

However even in these secure places addicts may encounter a series of problems. Some of these problems are related to integrating into a new environment. Here they have a strict schedule that will install some normal patterns of life. Starting to live a more planned life may be hectic for many. The problems at the psychological level are the most serious ones. This is why all centers offer therapy and counseling. Everyone should know that even if the process of healing is hard and problems may come up the victory is right at the corner.

The French newspaper L’Express lists 10 drugs off the market and their generic, because of possible side effects too large relative to profits often very modest.

There is no doubt that being addicted to drugs or even alcohol can be a big struggle. It is a like a war where the only weapon that you have is your will power. But a drug user should not immediately lose hope. If they tried to change their life once and things did not worked out, they still have more options including the non 12 step rehab.

For several decades now, most of the drug rehab centers apply the typical 12 step recovery program. However, there had been some users who do not find this approach very efficient. That is why the non 12 step rehab was created. This is one method that would not use any kind of medication in treating the user from his addiction to drugs. Other than that, it provides a more spiritual and religious methodology so that the addict could recover without the risk of abusing his body again with the legal drugs given by the professional.

While others call it as a long term drug rehab, the non 12 step rehab emphasizes the user’s personal responsibility so he’ll be on his way to speedy recovery. They should learn that even though counselors are there to listen and give advices, he must create his own ways on how to get rid of the addiction completely.
